we've arrived...

the trip to seattle has been painless so far- we've arrived at the best western university tower hotel (http://www.meany.com/) and finished our pre-meet shake out. myself, fireball and the ever gracious mahoney ran through the UW campus and quad in front of the library and remains a spectacular site.

during our pre-meet impromptu stickball game mahoney and myself managed to rock fireball's breaking pitch far to end the game. mostly we were lazy and didn't want to chase the ball more than twice.

the goal tomorrow is to run under 8:00 for 3000m. that's 4:16 mile pace for almost 2 miles. this has been a goal since i moved to california and this is the last opportunity. still, i'm not nervous (oddly). since i've taken the "experience" rather than "results" approach to running, i've felt much better before during and after races. competition it seems really is about the process. this is the reason i first started to run: the experience and process. it is only fitting i finally come back to it.
